Meet the Coaches
Co-Founder & CoachChristopher has coached AAU basketball since 2021 winning many tournaments over the years. Additionally, he spent three seasons coaching high school basketball at Smithtown East and Smithtown West. All three seasons were winning campaigns with a combined record of 44-11 overall. He began training in 2020 and got to be an intern for Peter Danyliv, one of the country’s top basketball trainers. Getting the opportunity to work with many McDonald’s All Americans, College players, and NBA talent such as Gradey Dick and Christian Braun. Today, Chris trains full time through Top Tier Basketball and in collaboration with Hoop Lab in Commack, working with athletes from age five to the collegiate level.
Christopher Montalbano
Co-Founder & CoachLouis has spent the past six years coaching basketball at the JV and Varsity levels in Smithtown. During his tenure as the JV head coach at Smithtown West, he delivered three winning seasons, an undefeated campaign, and earned two JV Coach of the Year honors. Transitioning to the varsity level in 2025, Lou served as an assistant coach and helped guide Smithtown West to both the Suffolk County Championship and the Long Island Championship in his very first year.
A proud Smithtown alumnus, Lou starred on the court in 2005, leading the team in points, assists, and steals before advancing to play collegiate basketball. A dedicated student of the game, he continually refines his coaching craft while taking deep pride in teaching youth players fundamental skills and tactical decision-making to prepare them for middle school, high school, and collegiate success.
